Cynthia's trip comes to an end.....

It's the evening before Cynthia and Karin fly home to Montreal. They spent almost 3 weeks here with us and Sylvie and I will miss them once they leave. Cynthia was just the funniest little visitor.
Not a day went by that she didn't do something to crack us up.
She's a smart little cookie. Karin is doing a great job with her and has developed an amzing amount of patience. She's quite the mom. She and Claude have themselves a beautiful little person and they are both doing a great job raising her and it shows already.

January 4 2009

Well....It was a pretty good day. The weather was a bit better thah it was last week. We had minus 6 for a high (compared to minus 38 a few days ago).
I had Ryan come to the house to have a look at the TR6. I've neen held up with the restoration work because of an electrical problem but Ryan was able to find the problem and I will soon be going ahead with the interior restoration. I'm anxious to get this done and even more anxious to get the car out this spring. I'll post a few pics tomorrow or whenever so that You can see the final steps.
this week will be a tough one for me. Tuesday I have a Thalium stress test to see what my heart arteries are up to and the following day I'm booked for an MRI so that they can see if there are any clots floating about in my head? Should be an interesting couple of tests.
Countdown is on for the arrival of our little grand-daughter. She and Karin will be here January 12 or 13? (my memory isn't what It used to be). Sylvie and I plan to spoil the little chipmunk to death while she is here. Old grampy is really looking forward to hugging that cute little bundle.
I even got a haircut and a beard trim so that I look less menacing to her.....
We will have fun while they are here. Pictures of the visit will be posted for sure.

more skiing

The start of a most graceful descent.

Fantastic form and style.

This is me taking a small breather after such a great downhill run.

Old men should not ski.:)

Mike and Andrea thought that we should have some exercise and therefore took us cross country skiing on New Year's Eve (day) We went to Mount Shark. For those of you not familiar with Mt Shark, it is hell and gone past Canmore. Way up in the mountains and down a long snow covered goat trail in the back country. We lasted about 2 hours skiing and had a ball. Today however is another story. My thigh muscles are so sore....My thoughts go out to all hookers who work overtime. I now know how they feel.

Notice how well I was protecting the rear of the group. Try as I might, I could not keep up with the other expe
rts in my group.

Kicking Horse

Me on top of Kicking Horse. Impressive views.

Sylvie and Gail in one of their sober moments.

Jim and John in one of their less sober moments.

Our 4 days at Kicking Horse were very relaxing. A lot of partying, hot tubbing and hanging out with friends. It's always fun when we get together with the Wisemans.
